Nashville Humane Association
Fall Newsletter

The Challenge
Nashville Humane Association needed a mailed newsletter that could emotionally connect with past and potential donors while clearly communicating the impact of its work. With no formal brand guide in place, the challenge was to create a cohesive, professional design that felt recognizable and trustworthy, while weaving together multiple content types—including adoption success stories, a message from the CEO, and a volunteer spotlight—into a clear, engaging narrative.
The Solution
I used Nashville Humane Association’s website style and visual cues as the foundation for the newsletter design, translating those elements into a consistent print experience. Stylized icons were incorporated throughout to support key sections, add visual interest, and help guide readers through the content. A strong visual hierarchy, paired with photography, callouts, and iconography, brought adoption stories, leadership messaging, and volunteer highlights to life. Designed specifically for print and mail distribution, the final newsletter balanced warmth and clarity, creating an on-brand piece that connected emotionally with readers and encouraged them to support the organization’s mission through giving.
